What should have been a great opportunity for young Anya, her chance to mingle with the dignitaries of the court of the Holy Britannian Empire, went horribly wrong when she bore witness to a cruel murder. Unbeknownst to her, it was only the first move in an intricate game of lies and deception beyond anything she could imagine. It was a game in which she was to become a pawn in mind, body and soul.
Anya keeps an old diary. As she skims through the pages full of stories from her childhood, she can only wonder why the things she reads and the things she remembers are contradictory. Who was she? Who is she? Confused and lost, Anya doesn't know whether her feelings really belong to her. She puts on a cold and indifferent attitude to deal with the outside world. But she never gives up searching for the truth, never fails to record the events of her life in fear they might be taken away from her again.
The uncertainty of her everyday life transforms into unwavering strength on the battlefield. Anya is a loyal soldier of her country and she never hesitates or falters in her missions. The moments spent in the cockpit of her machine are when she is most in control of her life. But when the dust of war settles, can a pawn emerge victorious from this game?
